More than twenty-five-years ago, Mark Murphy chose a career in animation. After he completed film and art courses at the Kansas City
Art Institute, he moved to Los Angeles and worked as an assistant animator for major film studios.
Under close supervision of animation masters, Murphy learned the art of full animation. He was introduced to the process and principles
of traditional animation, as well as production and studio procedures. These universally accepted industry standards paved the way for Murphy to use his training at animation studios throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Over the span of his career, Murphy developed experience in the production of TV commercials, series, specials and feature films. A
broad background in animation production soon led to various job positions in creative management. He worked as an overseas
supervisor, director, creative consultant and instructor. A strong 2D background was valuable when he worked in India as director and creative consultant on the 3D Chicken Little pilot for Disney Television.
Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Murphy continues to travel overseas and work with studios in different capacities. Whether the format is
2D or 3D, he strives to maintain the original integrity, quality and high standards of this unique art form. To keep the magic in animation,
Murphy passes on years of training from great traditional animation artists onto the next generation.
